Behavioural Grooming Sessions

Building Confidence, One Step at a Time!

Not every dog finds grooming easy—and that's okay.

Some dogs become worried about having their nails trimmed, being brushed, standing on the grooming table or having certain areas of their body handled. These behaviours are often the result of fear, anxiety or previous negative experiences.

Rather than forcing your dog through the grooming process, Behavioural Grooming focuses on helping them feel safe, comfortable and confident through positive reinforcement and gradual desensitisation.

Each one-hour session is tailored to your dog's individual needs and works at a pace they are comfortable with.

Behavioural Grooming Can Help With:

✔ Nail trimming anxiety

✔ Fear of brushing or combing

✔ Sensitivity around paws, ears or tail

✔ Standing calmly for grooming

✔ Fear of clippers or dryers

✔ Handling sensitivity

✔ Puppies needing extra confidence

✔ Dogs with previous negative grooming experiences

What to Expect

Every session begins by identifying your dog's individual challenges before working through carefully planned training exercises using reward-based methods.

The goal isn't simply to complete the groom—it's to change how your dog feels about grooming.

Over time, many dogs develop the confidence and skills needed to make future grooming appointments less stressful for both themselves and their owners.
